Alta Video — 1597: Audio was still available in Android app despite audio permission being disabled for that user

Overview
A vulnerability was discovered in the Alta Video VMS backend, allowing users on the Android app to bypass audio restrictions. Specifically, users without the "Listen to audio" role were still able to toggle on and listen to audio. The issue was not present in the browser and iOS versions of the application.

- Alta Video:
- All Stable upgrade channel versions before 7.0.7.
- All Beta upgrade channel versions before 7.0.5.
Unaffected Products
Alta Video:
- All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 7.0.7.
- All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 7.0.5.
Avigilon Cloud-Native Cameras: all versions.
Alta Video Cloud: all versions.
Resolution
This issue has been fixed in Alta Video Beta upgrade channel version 7.0.5 and Stable upgrade channel version 7.0.7.
It is strongly recommended that all installations running an affected version are upgraded to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Alta Video User Interface.
